Ben Palkowski, Attorney, CPA
Ben Palkowski is the Principal of Fiscal Highlands LLC. Drawing on his experience as both an attorney and an accountant, he conducts investigations into accounting records, analyzes financial information and communicates the story behind the numbers. He also helps translate accounting records and analyze accounting discovery for other attorneys.
Ben has 20 years of experience working with a variety of nonprofit organizations, including charities, trade associations, political organizations, social welfare organizations and trusts.
A Note from Ben
An organization’s mission can be disrupted by internal instability and external influences. In my 20 years of experience working with a variety of local and national organizations, in areas spanning from regulatory affairs to fundraising, I have witnessed how staff turnover, cultural changes, and board resignations can leave a nonprofit’s financial and accounting functions vulnerable to fraud, government fines, data breaches, reputational harm and loss of tax-exempt status.
I’m here to help your mission-based organization carry out its work by preventing accounting issues from growing into larger legal liabilities. I service tax exempt organizations, labor unions, trade associations and political organizations as your extra set of eyes, objective fact-finder and storyteller.
